The first event I ever covered as a professional sportswriter was a high school football game in New Jersey years ago. I remember the game was poorly played, so that’s what I wrote about in my story. The editor asked if I could go a little easier on the guys.

So yeah, I’ve always been like this.

I was a staff writer at the Hartford Courant, Detroit Free Press and The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C., among other stops along the way. Over the years, I’ve written for the Washington Post, USA Today, ESPN.com and many more newspapers, magazines and web sites. And I’ve had over 1,000 bylines and reporting credits in The New York Times covering everything from the Democratic National Convention to the Daytona 500.
I’ve tried to tame my sarcasm at times, but I think I’ve mostly honed it. As you’ve no doubt noticed if you’ve read any of my blog. ...

If you want to find out more about my background, please check out my web site vivbernstein.com or my profile on Linkedin.

And thank you for stopping by ...
